First, a safe place to live. Then the deeper work behind why she needed one.
Some women arrive with nowhere to live — one missed paycheck from the car, a sentence that just ended with no door to walk through, a life that came apart at fifty. Some arrive still healing from abuse. Some arrive with a substance they cannot put down, often tangled with all of the above. What they share is a woman who wants to begin again — and is willing to give a year to doing it properly.
The common thread isn't the crisis. It's a woman who wants to begin again — and who is willing to give a year to doing it properly.
Women we are built for
- Homelessness — or one paycheck away from it
- Rebuilding in the years after an abusive relationship
- Addiction or substance dependency
- Coming out of incarceration with nowhere to land
- Starting over after loss, or after a life came apart
You do not need to be in the worst shape of your life to qualify. You do not need a diagnosis. You do not need to arrive with your reasons organized.
Where we are not the right fit — and where to go instead
If you are in danger tonight, what you need is a shelter, not a year-long program — and Granbury has one. Mission Granbury operates the Ada Carey Family Violence Shelter, and we will help you get there. Call them, or call the numbers above, before you call us.
If you need medical detox, that is care Mercy Manor does not provide. Reach out anyway — we will help you find it.
Many of the women we serve have survived abuse. What Mercy Manor offers is the year after the emergency — not the emergency itself. When you are safe, and you are ready to rebuild, we are here.
Want it spelled out exactly? We've written the whole thing down — who we can take, who we can't, whether you can bring your children, what happens about detox, and the two histories we cannot accept. No guessing, no driving to Granbury on an assumption: who we can help, and who we can't.
Whatever brought you here, the need underneath is the same: a safe place to call home.
Most women who come to Mercy Manor have lost their housing, or can see it coming. If that's you, start here — a home is the ground everything else is rebuilt on.
Start hereI have nowhere to live — or I'm about to
A car, a couch, a motel, a friend whose patience is running out — or an eviction notice you can already see coming. Whatever the story behind it, a safe place to live is where Mercy Manor begins.
Facing homelessness? Start here →Homelessness rarely arrives on its own.
If one of these is part of your story, it's part of ours too — and each one leads back to the same door. Pick the one that's loudest today.

You reach out
By phone or the form below. Say as much or as little as you're ready to say.
We listen first
A real person, not a form letter, calls to understand the situation and answer honest questions — including about cost, timing, and whether Mercy Manor is the right fit.
We figure out next steps together
If Mercy Manor's one-year program is right, we'll walk through what intake looks like. If it isn't, we'll help point toward what is — including a referral for medical detox or acute care Mercy Manor doesn't provide.
Who can reach out
- The woman herself
- A parent, spouse, or family member
- A pastor or church leader
- A caseworker, counselor, or probation officer
- A friend who isn't sure what else to do
What stays private
Conversations with Mercy Manor are confidential. We do not publish, share, or use anyone's story or situation without their own explicit, informed permission. Read our full privacy commitment.
Before you reach out
Do I have to be struggling with addiction?
No. The women Mercy Manor is built for share one thing: they have lost their home, or are about to. Addiction is one of the roads that leads there — a common one — but it is never a requirement. We are just as much for the woman one paycheck from the street, the woman coming out of incarceration with nowhere to land, the woman rebuilding after an abusive house, and the woman starting over after loss. The common thread is not the crisis behind her — it is a woman who needs a safe place to live and is ready to begin again, willing to give a year to doing it properly.
I'm in a domestic violence situation right now. Can Mercy Manor help?
If you are in immediate danger, what you need is an emergency shelter rather than a year-long residential program. Mission Granbury operates the Ada Carey Family Violence Shelter locally, and we will help you reach them. Many of the women we serve have survived abuse — what Mercy Manor offers is the long year of rebuilding after the emergency, not the emergency itself. When you are safe and ready to rebuild, reach out to us.
Is reaching out confidential?
Yes. A first conversation with Mercy Manor is confidential and carries no obligation. We will never publish or share a woman's name, photo, or story without written permission.
Can a family member or friend reach out on a woman's behalf?
Yes. Many first conversations are started by a mother, sister, pastor, or friend who is worried about someone they love.
What happens after I call or submit the form?
A member of our team will follow up personally to listen, answer questions, and talk through whether Mercy Manor's one-year program is the right fit right now.
We'll follow up personally
